We are a very new organisation built on an idea our founder
has developed to offer people free and affordable access to the creative arts
to bring people together to help tackle social isolation as well as benefitting
people’s mental health by finding and maintaining a creative outlet.

The idea was built off our founder’s personal experience
from falling ill at a young age and slowly slipping further and further away
from society and the normalities of life for a young girl who hadn’t reached
her teenage years yet. A neurological condition that then caused an array of
mental health issues and caused isolation, in her eyes she had no one and
nothing to live for until she found a love for being creative which saved her
life, which is when the idea for The Makers Nook UK came about.

The Makers Nook UK is developing a range of creative
services to offer a more natural way of benefitting the mental health &
well-being of those in the community. Talking isn’t something that comes easily
to everyone especially to those who are struggling, so by offering these
services we are instead providing an alternative way of communicating through
art which we can develop and build on that trust to offer and recommend
additional support when needed.
